From a small village in Andhra Pradesh to supporting skilled artisans and creating sustainable livelihoods
Annapurna quit her corporate career in 2006 to become an entrepreneur. Her journey began with millet-based food products. But her true calling came in 2013 when she was entrusted with a life-changing mission.
As a member of the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP), she was assigned to implement a central government project for training women in eco-friendly bag making - a project that would transform not just her life, but the lives of hundreds of women in Kolluru, Andhra Pradesh.
"I wanted these women to start earning from day one, and the order was a good opportunity. I did not know designing, but I wanted to create employment."

Glimpses of our artisans and eco-friendly bags in the making
How a government training project evolved into a sustainable business model supporting skilled artisans
Government Initiative
Under ALEAP and the Ministry of Textiles, Annapurna was entrusted with training 650 women in and around Kolluru village to make eco-friendly bags. The goal was to encourage self-employment as agriculture was the only source of income.

Company Founded
After the training, 15-20 women were interested but lacked confidence. They urged Annapurna to start a unit where they could make jute bags while she handled marketing and sales. This was the birth of Mathesis Eco Ways LLP.
"This was the birth of Mathesis Eco Ways LLP - a partnership between skilled artisans and urban marketing expertise."
Canara Bank
Canara Bank placed the first order for 450 bags. Despite challenges with the trainer, Annapurna personally ensured delivery, learning everything about stitching, printing, and execution in the process.
"This one experience taught me everything about stitching, printing and execution. From that day, I started taking orders independently."

How sustainable business practices create lasting social impact
Our skilled artisans have been able to educate their children, buy farm inputs, and support their families. Many have become entrepreneurs themselves.
From 400 bags per month to 500+ happy clients, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has been the cornerstone of our growth.
We manufacture eco-friendly bags using jute, cotton, and canvas for corporates, educational institutions, conferences, and personal events.
A defining moment that shaped our commitment to excellence
"Three days before the dispatch of our first order, the trainer said the work was incomplete and they would not be able to deliver the bags! I took a bus from Hyderabad to Kolluru and saw that only cutting had been done. The printing and stitching of 450 bags had to be finished in two days."
"I took all the cut and uncut bag pieces in a taxi and went from one tailor and bag maker to another to get the work completed. Somebody agreed to ready 70 bags, another person printed the bags in a few hours, and I called practically everyone in my circle for help."
"This one experience taught me everything about stitching, printing and execution. From that day, I started taking orders independently, and the journey continues till date."

From a village in Andhra Pradesh to serving corporates nationwide
Our Hyderabad centre clocks ₹1 crore through jute, cloth, and canvas bags. We have adopted another centre in Dindigul where we train women to make wood-based laser cut products.
Four of the women trained by Annapurna took a shop on the main road in the village and started stitching, becoming entrepreneurs themselves.
We're expanding to gifting items made using wood and natural colors, continuing our mission of supporting skilled artisans and creating eco-friendly products.
Be part of a sustainable future while supporting skilled artisans. Let's create eco-friendly solutions together.
